Where?

I recall that from my years as a student I wished for long foreign travels. I wanted to get acquainted with people living in different parts of the world. I have had the opportunity to visit Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam in Asia; Australia, Vanuavatu  and Fiji Islands in Pacific , Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Macedonia, Germany, Poland , Greece , Italy, France and Switzerland in Europe;  United States of America ;Canada ; Surinam and Trinidad and Tobago  in Latin America ,   Morocco and  South Africa in Africa .   My long stints in foreign lands teaching Hindi, have enriched my academic interests and have given me insights into language teaching methodologies. While teaching I also got to understand the lexicological needs for the promotion of Hindi. This presented to me the opportunity to work in the arena of Indian Diaspora studies.  These foreign travels gave me, above all, the opportunity to look at India and Hindi critically from abroad. This has surely helped me serve Hindi better.
