The study and impact of folklore on Hindi literature has been the subject of my doctoral dissertation (D.Phil.) at the University of Allahabad . The subject of my thesis was “ Folk Elements in Hindi Poetry 1850-1900” ( Bharatendyu Yugin Hindi Kavya Mein Loktatva). This research work was done under the supervision of Padmabhushan Dr. Ram Kumar Varma , the renowned Hindi littérateur and the then head of the Department of Hindi, at the University of Allahabad .The thesis was published by Rishabh Charan Jain and Sons, New Delhi.
